Coaching to Improve Teacher's Performance
A teacher and coach work together to embed effective practice into instruction. Whether the district uses OTES or another model for evaluation, it is the coach’s role to support the teacher as they learn and use effective practices. The teacher and coach collaborate on student outcomes and ways to improve student achievement.
How it Works:
The teacher and coach engage in a coaching cycle for a pre-determined amount of time. A planning meeting occurs to determine the goal or goals for the coaching. Once goals are established the coach observes in the classroom. Each observation is followed up with timely feedback to the teacher and a reflective prompt. Based on the reflection, the coach schedules another observation or planning meeting with the teacher.
We provide coaching in many areas:
- OTES/Teacher Evaluation Coaching
- Instructional Coaching
- Engagement Coaching
- Formative Assessment Coaching
